Third Strand Baby Findley

“We never wanted children and for 10yrs of marriage we were steadfast on that. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer in October of 2018.

As soon as the diagnosis was given, everything started to move so fast. After 6 rounds of chemo, double mastectomy, and radiation there was no sign of cancer left.

In the early stages of the cancer journey, we were asked if we wanted to freeze my eggs. I was forced to make a decision and the answer was no. At that point I was facing a deadly disease and the only thing that I could think about was what we needed to do to get rid of it.

After cancer my husband and I realized that life was so short and a family is so important to share it with.

Our option to start a family was IVF and thankfully we were able to conceive on the first round. As we started through the pregnancy we began to realize how little the medical field offers for children that have a different situation outside of the “Norm”. For us it was the fact that I couldn’t breast feed and we wanted to give our child the same opportunity as any other kid.

We researched ways to get breast milk and all the options were out of reach for us and we began to think that we wouldn’t have the opportunity to have breast milk for our baby.

It was at this time that I saw a post about Third Stand on Babies after breast cancer and I immediately applied. We received a call from Kyle and we just got our 10 gallons in the mail!

We are so THANKFUL for this AMAZING organization and all the selfless mothers providing options for families that do not have the “Normal” experience. Thank you Third Strand! We will be forever grateful to you and the Donor for giving our child the opportunity to start his life out on the right foot!”
